    Iconic.

Definitely one of my most favorite spots to come to in Queens. My father and I would come here after a hard morning of work for lunch.

Some religious Sikh bhajans would be playing in the background, the banter of a bunch of families across the restaurant & a wide variety of nationalities could be found inside on a given day. This place is an entire vibe.

Behind the counter are (who I believe to be) a father and son that run the place - which definitely hits close to home for me.

Fresh paranthas. Bomb thalis. Unlimited raita & aachar (which they now have stopped ), and an authentic vegetarian punjabi-dhaba experience in the heart of Queens.

I will seldom re-visit the same establishments in Queens - but over the years this spot has turned into an essential.

Best $1 chai in all of Queens. No cap.

Ok I'm legit never coming back here after today. My friend and I come here very often and buy chai. The service has always been meh but we still return. Today my friend asked for tissues after the lady spilled some chai on the outside of the cup, the lady says "tissues are $1 extra".... i have NEVER heard of a restaurant charging for tissues....

Then I went up after a bit and asked for tissues and the guy laughs, gives me some and says "tea is now $1.50 to stay". Like WTF??? I never even asked that and it made zero sense. I'm never returning. Pathetic customer service. I've never been to any establishment that charges for tissues.....

    From a real Indian person

I was born in India; raised in the US and have lived in Manhattan for over 15 years. I love chaat; my Mom is an exceptional cook so it's hard to impress me.

The dahi puri was some of the best I have had. Prepare yourself for a very Indian experience - the line is a bit chaotic, it's hot, and smells kinda funny - the dahi puri at least is very authentic tasting and has well-balanced, vibrant flavors. Enjoy!!

I was in the mood for Indian sweets one night, after a dinner in the area, and was on the way to another place. Raja Sweets was next door though, and caught my eye. There were a lot of people sitting inside and eating, so there were not a lot of free tables. This was at 7-8pm on a cold Saturday night.
I came to the sweets counter, and asked the man there if he could explain each one. There was actually a sweets menu hanging overhead, but I didn't notice, and he kindly explained them all anyway. I got four, at $1 each, including one kind of gulab jamun, carrot halwa, burfi, and something else I can't remember the name of. All were excellent, fresh, with good texture. Gulab jamun was the sweetest of the quartet.
The ambience was basic and no frills, but with such cheap prices, you cannot miss this place. The savory food also looked delicious, and I would like to come back to try this.

Whaaaat? You love Indian food and you haven't been to raja sweets? Ehh you are missing alot lol. I went here with my better half (who has lived in NYC for 10 years), who recommend this place as "the best place to have authentic north Indian food". And trust me I was in TEARS when I had their food- the food there made me remind some childhood memories! This is by far my most favorite place to have north Indian food around NYC.

Sarson da saga makki di roti- Rare to find anywhere, was surprisingly Delicious.

Panipoori- was Okay, paani was little off

Gobi paratha- basically roti or tortilla filled with cauliflower and spices.. made in  butter. It was nice and soft

Bread pakora- was nice, filled with potatoes and spices.

Ghar halwa- carrot sweet, not too sweet which is good, must have!

Service: They take some time to prep your order but if the food is so good, a d for the prices they sell their food for, I wouldn't mind waiting.

Staff: Very respectful and nice :)

Over all, I would rate this place as 6 out if 5 stars!I will make sure to go there whenever I get chance.
